Mould Treatment

Did you know...

Mould can cause physical damage to buildings and vehicles by destroying the surfaces they inhabit and this damage is not always visable to the eye, so it's important to not ignore even that 'damp' smell.

Mould also reduces the effectiveness of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in homes and cars by blocking the airflow through the cooling coils.

However it's important to remember that mould is part of our everyday lives, it can occur in the cleanest home or car and it's how we manage mould that makes the big difference.

Mould will grow in places with a lot of moisture, such as around leaks in roofs, windows, or pipes, or where there has been a water event, it grows well on paper products, cardboard, ceiling tiles, wood, and fabric products.

Important things to remember;

  • Do not attempt to clean significant quantities (more than a few standard  bathroom tiles worth) of mould, this should be performed by a qualified remediator,
  • Some people should not be present or involved in mould removal – pregnant women, children, people with a weakened immune system or chronic lung diseases

Before your remediator arrives;

  • Do not use a dry brush or broom to sweep mould,
  • Do not use a normal vacuum, as it won’t filter out the fine particles and will make them airborne,
  • Do not use bleach or any other similar products, as it will not kill all of the mould. It can bleach the mould white, making it more difficult to see and physically remove. Once the active ingredient breaks down, it will feed the mould to regrow.
  • Do not spray oil-of-cloves or other oil-based additives onto the mould and leave it. The oil residue can be a food source for mould to re-grow. It can also be very difficult to keep the surface clean of settled dust.
  • Do not use humidifiers or introduce water or moisture into the environment.

Do not ignore that 'damp' smell, we can kill and extract mould spores, ozone treat the area and erradicate that smell before mould does too much damage!

If you can see it we guarantee there is SO much more hiding away, don't waste another minute -
